do not use this lane! i live at the end of this road and the farmer does not like it being used and it ends up with him calling the police and making up big storys. which leads to nearly getting arrested which leads to nearly getting my car crushed when i was doing something completely legal, and he was in the right as he is a local land owner as the policeman put it

Im afraid the Police will need to deal with the farmer as its plainly a legal right of way for all vehicles and the farmer is not permitted to stop anyone travelling along it.
In fact its the contrary hes not allowed to block the byway or even put up misleading signs to deter usage.
As long as all of us stick to the lane there isnt a problem, stand your ground and be polite if challenged by the Police...If the farmer tries to stop you hes obstructing a highway which Im pretty sure is an offence and in anyones shoes a call to the Police would be in order.
Interesting to see if the Police react as quick to this call as the farmers.
